Dangerous Love has gathered different opinion since its release. A sweet record, no doubt. But is it a hit or an average record?
Tiwa Savage’s new output sees her delving more into the atmosphere of Love.
Her last official single, “Attention” had her complaining. Her man didn’t have time for her and it became a concern for her. She got worried just like every girl would be. She was getting tired.
That was Attention. But now on “Dangerous Love”, Tiwa Savage is confused and undecided.
With the beat decorated by this swirling woozy synths and background vocals zombie-singing “Jareee,” Tiwa Savage slips in with a melodic tone.
What catches everyone’s fancy on the intro is her ability to use what’s happening right now to create her intro.
“I been in my room but I know outside there’s Sunshine o
“O baby you’re my sunshine o, so why I still dey catch cold.”
Sunshine & Cold – Two weather conditions. Witty Tiwa Savage.
After falling out of love on Attention, it seems she’s found Love again. But like us, too, we have fears about this new love interest. We harbor worries. Will this new lover not be like the last one? Will this relationship lead to something good? Will I get tired of this?
At this moment she sings with a worried heart,
“Are you really the one, No go come tire for me, Make e no go turn yawa for me”.
Dangerous Love is touted to be the first single off her upcoming album, Celia. For some, it’s doesn’t ignite the sparks of a hit song. It doesn’t arouse the feelings of one. There’s no compelling force to hit the repeat button after the first listen. It sits comfortably in the category of “Just There” records.
Maybe Tiwa does need to change things.
The record is a well crafted one, not to take anything away from the song. The Adlibs. The production. The power Tiwa Savage’s vocals wield. Her vocal texture. The sweetness in her delivery. All this are enmeshed in Dangerous Love.
The problem is we can’t relate. Perhaps it’s not what the majority of the populace needs right now. There’s no demand for this record. Maybe. The song could have been a perfect one if released two months ago when there were restrictions in movement.
Now that restrictions have been lifted, love birds are reconciled and no one misses themselves like that anymore.
But What’s Your Opinion About This New Tiwa Savage Record?
