I wake up to someone shaking me.
It’s my father. “Where’s your phone?” he asks me.
I murmur nonsense still half asleep and shuffle under my pillow for my phone.
I find it and half give-half throw it in his direction.
I wake up moments later to realize what just happened.
By then he is already asleep. I sit with my knees close to my chest and stop myself from falling asleep again.
This is not the first time this has happened.
He comes to my room at night a lot to cover me with warm blankets, to tuck in my duvet, to make sure the windows are properly closed.
But I’ve found that that’s not the only thing he does.
He searches through my cupboards and scans my desks and sometimes I find him looking through my laptop.
Yes, it used to be his, and yes he’s looking for viruses, but I can’t help but feel that that’s not the only things he does.
He keeps on peeking into my room in the day and he gets into fights with my siblings and me all the time.
The rest of my family isn’t as bad but I can’t help feeling that I’m unsafe in the house.
There’s nothing I can do but wait till I’m 18
I know the question might sound somehow to some of you but,
