2020 is really a bad year for the former Marvin Artiste Reekado Banks. The second time he got embarrassed publicly. First it was Burna Boy, now Wizkid. Chai
Not long ago, Reekado who recently released ‘Need More’ featuring Kida Kudz announced a new single titled ‘Omo Ologo’ featuring Wizkid. He wrote on a tweet,
“Out of control, gbedu must drop. This one with my brother @wizkidayo “OMO OLOMO” midnight dropping Fire Still on the matter !!! #EndSWAT #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality.”
But it seems the tweet didn’t go down well with Wizkid. In response to Banks tweet, Wizkid whose fourth album, Made In Lagos was meant to drop today October 15, 2020 but postponed due to the EndSars protest, tweeted..
“Delete this dude ! Can’t believe you’re even doing this at a time like this. Old song ! #endsars fool!“
My Take On This:
I think Wizkid overreacted. His tweet is unnecessary as insensitive as Banks’ timing and post was. Wizkid should have private message him to take the post down for now, instead fo embarrassing publicly.
Reekado on the other hand shouldn’t have posted this at this time. Nigerians are busy fighting a bigger battle for the betterment of everyone. Releasing a song that has no connection with the present movement, is unnecessary, insensitive and unacceptable. However, Wizkid shouldn’t have called him a fool.
BE HONEST! If You Were Wizkid, What Would Have Done – Private Message Reekado Banks or Embarrass Him Publicly?
