INEC To Hold Bayelsa, Imo, Lagos Bye-Elections On October 31


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the bye-elections in Imo, Lagos and Bayelsa States for October 31.

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, made it known in a statement issued after a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to him, the meeting reviewed preparations for the Edo and Ondo state governorship elections, the conduct of the Nasarawa Central State Constituency election held on Saturday as well as all outstanding bye-elections.

The elections to be held include Bayelsa Central and West Senatorial districts, Imo North Senatorial District, Nganzai State Constituency, Borno State.

Others are Bayo State Constituency, Borno State; Cross River North Senatorial District; Obudu State Constituency, Cross River State; and the Lagos East Senatorial District.

Also to hold are the Kosofe II State Constituency, Lagos State; Plateau South Senatorial District; Bakura State Constituency in Zamfara State; and the Ibaji State Constituency, Kogi State.
