Santi Cazorla is set to join Qatari side, Al-Sadd, Marca reports.
Al-Sadd is coached by former Barcelona captain, Xavi Hernandez.
Cazorla played his last game for Villarreal on Sunday against Eibar.
The 35-year-old enjoyed a brilliant third spell at the LaLiga club, after two years of injuries.
Cazorla scored 11 times and provided eight assists this season.
He previously made 180 appearances over six years for Arsenal and has 81 caps for Spain.
He has also played for Malaga and Recreativo Huelva after first joining Villarreal as a teenager.
