Following the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief whip, Abba Kyari, Lagos state governor, Babajide sanwo-olu has taken to Instagram to commiserate and pay his last respect to the deceased.
According to Sanwo-Olu, Abba Kyari’s death came as a shock and it is quite painful. He added that the 80 year old was a committed and patriotic citizen, who contributed remarkably to the smooth and successful running of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The governor used the opportunity to pray to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

“I received with a heavy heart, the sad news of the demise of the former Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. The death of Mallam Abba Kyari is shocking, painful and a monumental loss to the nation, the people of Maiduguri and the Kyari family.
The late former Chief of Staff was an astute public servant, a deeply committed and patriotic citizen, who contributed remarkably to the smooth and successful running of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Mallan Kyari was a conscientious, competent, cerebral and outstanding administrator and on behalf of the government and good people of Lagos State, I hereby extend our deepest condolences on this significant and painful loss. I commiserate with His Excellency, President Muhammad Buhari, and I urge him to take solace in the exemplary quality of life Mallam Kyari lived. He will be surely missed by all.
May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest.
I also pray for the Almighty to comfort the family he left behind and grant them the grace to bear the irreplaceable loss. Amen”
